dance

a meadow of beautiful daffodils

in full bloom, they dance in soft grass

the gentle wind twirls through the brush

beneath a crystal sky

leaves of trees

dance to the same song

they dance and they dance

all day long

a calm lake

the water joins in dance

calmly waving

to our gentle song

the song is beautiful

but I am hurting

clouds roll in

rain begins to dance

but the song is no longer a lullaby

i want the song to stop

but it gets louder and louder

wind rips the leaves from their branches

the trees sway to the song now

a field of drowned daffodils

the water is rising

i am sinking

i look up to see above the water a hollow sky

i reach out

but i drown
