A Dance with Death

We are born within a darkness

Yet His darkness is gentle

He holds us to Life

As a gift to the world

Life takes this gift

And watches it grow

And right next to Life

Is their twin, Death

Death looks upon the gift

Then to his twin

"A lovely gift, my twin." He would say

"This gift is also yours." Life would reply

The gift would spend their time

Along side with Life

But the gift avoids

The presence of Death

The gift hated Death

And loved Life with a passion

But never understood

Why would they stand close to Him

As the gift grew older

They soon began to see

Life wasn't near them

Only Death stood by them

"Death, why did Life leave?" asked the gift

"Life had their time with you, my dear soul" Death replied

"What am I to you?"

"A gift from Life."

The gift now sees the truth

Life was one journey

Death was the end of it

A endless cycle

What would Life do

Without Death

Balance is needed

One can not live the oher
