Dance Lessons

In cages they train them to dance.
In cages made of concrete,
They hold them with the threat
Of letting them loose in a society,
Where only those dancing to the
Monotoned beat of the status quo survive.
In these cages, named after fallen heroes
Who carved their names into the timeline of history,
They shroud the windows
With blinds to blind those trapped inside
From those stray rays of hope that
Trickle down from the heavens only to strike
The pavement where those trapped inside once danced free.
As they take each step harmoniously with each other
They manage to bury the free spirit within them,
Which yearns to dance without restraint,
On a stage of swings and slides.
And the audience consists of bosses
Who critique their rhythmic steps
To cast them in more plays until the day,
The music stops and the spotlight
Loses life.

this was awesome, because I know of many people that are "caged dancers" for society and I believe that people should follow their hearts diesere instead of conforming to the worlds expectations
