Dance Recital

It's a count of 8. Arms wavering. Muscles tense. Sound filling the ears. Deep breaths in. 1, 2. One leg up. Toes pointed, tapping, up and down. Strong and steady. No sound. 3, 4. Graceful tricks. Lacking fear. Music thundering. No crashing. Now a dip. 5, 6. Up on toes. Straight legs. Steady hips. World spins. Stop and start again. 7, 8. Almost done. Time for a pose. Flash a grin. Take a bow. It's over now.
