Dance of the Seasons

I will carve my winter into your skin
Shiver free the wild within
If the sun fails to rise again
Will you think you have been forgotten?

I will tattoo grace in reprimand
When howls are bit into the palm of a hand
You are the flame's last fighting chance
Not a fire afraid to dance

When the snow fails to freeze the ground
Though icy gusts blow all around
I'll know that you have chosen light
The wind no longer blinds your sight

When the pounding hail dissolves in sun
And winter's pale fades at once
Born from blight, the first to fly
I'll know that you have conquered sky

Though pride invokes flights ice can't feel
You will have warmed our souls enough to heal
I will bridge the gaps between our dreams
Leaving just seasons and seams

So hold our memories near to your heart
Because ice melts in your sunny new start
You are the flame's last fighting chance
Not a fire afraid to dance

When the snow fails to freeze the ground
Though icy gusts blow all around
Born from blight, the first to fly
I'll know that you have conquered sky

When the pounding hail dissolves in sun
And winter's pale fades at once
I will bridge the gaps between our dreams
Leaving just seasons and seams

So hold our memories near to your heart
Because ice melts in your sunny new start
You are the flame's last fighting chance
Not a fire afraid to dance

And I have seen you dance.
