Dance like Yoncé, Inspire like Yoncé
As a dance choreographer,
I become my students' biographer.
Every motion, every step
A clear notion to prep.
Lights blinding their fear
Empowered by the audience near,
Hearts racing as they wait,
Anxious because it's late,
The first beat gives a rush,
Everyone is at a hush,
Courage, commitment and character,
Dance as an unexpected adventure.
The music fades out,
Perfect without a doubt,
Front and center for the final bow,
They left me speechless, wow!
As I write their story,
I am in glory,
Strutting off stage,
Head held high,
The story's final page,
A memorable goodbye.
If asked who I am,
My dancers' it would be,
They make me who I am,
And who I want to be,
Flawlessly!
