Dancing

night in the family room

dancing home to Alabama

and Joseph heading to Tucson

your best bet, the Queen of Hearts

in the kitchen

soup for tomorrow’s lunch

topsy-turvy, falling to the tile

a crack against little piggies

a heavy toe in gauze

limping down the split-level

soft cushion of striped blue

cold white teal bunny’s  relief

stereo in the silence

fingers twirling to the tune

a shining guitar to Graceland

and Daddy’s dancing by himself
