Dancing

Moving slightly to the left

And then slightly toward the right.

Putting all my effort on the table

And dancing away the night.

Giving all I’ve got to give

And trying not to see what’s in sight.

Putting all my love on the table

And dancing away the night.

Living as simply as I can

And trying with all my might.

Putting all my mind on the table

And dancing away the night.

Giving as much as I can

And taking more in spite.

Putting all my money on the table

And dancing away the night.

Jumping as much as I can

And simply taking flight.

Putting all my cares on the table

And dancing away the night.

Doing as little as I want

And not caring about what I write.

Putting all my pens on the table

And dancing away the night.

Aging as little as I possibly can

And not caring about this plight.

Putting all my fears on the table

And dancing away the night.

Screaming as little as I can

And slowly losing fight.

Putting all my life on the table

And throwing away the night.
