Dancing Alone

The room, it beckoned me sound

To waltz again round and round.

“Dance with destiny and test your fate.”

What it held, I was unsure.

That which beckoned did quite lure.

The temptation of curiosity and wonder aghast

I shivered from the brittle wind of my past.

I looked around to find one to dance with of my own

But to my dismay, I was dancing alone.
