Dancing with the Devil

An abandoned church was there Crippling beyond repair Absent from the Lord's Prayer A creaking wooden door Bibles scattered on the floor A cross toppled off the wall Leaving Jesus in a sprawl The Church bells no longer ring Choir gone, no one left to sing Ground covered in debris Where could the Lord's followers be? You stand atop a hill Looking out, everything still From afar you hear a sound Are God's People now found? You run off towards the place The noise comes from a dark space A large cavern you embrace Now trying to be brave You look inside the cave A hopeless explorer And with a shock of horror You find them in a revel Dancing with the Devil
