Dancing Down the Street

They said you couldn’t do it

Said you didn’t have the heart

Said quit trying ‘fore you break something

Before something breaks your heart

You’re not what they make of you

They must merely take a guess

Who you really are inside

It is anybody’s guess

You’re not one to listen to

What all those voices say

Yet when others drone on and on

You become what they all say

But you can’t sing your own song

With lyrics from the street

Your life’s song has a rhythm

Heart, soul dancing down the street
