Dancing Shoes

Can I have my dancing shoes back?

God you also I know that I am a tough nut to crack

Flashes of those mesmerizing turns and tweaks

The hardships involving days and sometimes even weeks

That sweet taste of appreciation after receiving so much flak

Can I have my dancing shoes back?

God you also I know that I am a tough nut to crack

People pointing out miniscule details in my every twist

Dancing was and will solely remain my life’s gist

Waiting for your hand to pull me out of this mud

Though I cannot move but Goosebumps still run through my blood

Whenever I hear a foot thumping track

Can I have my dancing shoes back?

God you also I know that I am a tough nut to crack

For a person whose moves left people in thrill

Is difficult to accept that life has come to a standstill

When words fail to express my eyes bear my pain

At any cost I just want to groove again

Before the curtain falls and everything turns black

Can I have my dancing shoes back?

God you also I know that I am a tough nut to crack
