Danger!

I sense the darkness, but I fight it

He can’t be that bad

He loves me,

He won’t hurt me.

The lights turn on, warning me

Emptiness!

Danger!

But I don’t listen

Leave! I stay.

Get out! I fight.

I turn my eye.

There is no danger.

It disagrees.

My heart, she’s broken.

My mind, she’s lost.

My words, he twisted.

I can’t let go.

The lights continue blinking,

Getting brighter, blinding.

But still.. I stay.
