Dare

When I was a small girl, I had a dream

I could do anything, be anyone, be Cinderella

But that was a small thing, to really mean

When you're a child

I was a child

Now I'm grown and my imagination

Has shrunk, its range doesn't spread far

Not even thinking about vacation

It's lacking inspiration

But I've been reading, thinking

What if I dared?

What if I decided to be that girl once more,

the girl who KNEW she could do anything?

How would I fare?  Should I really, actually, truly..

Dare
