The Dark

I descend into darkness, the everlasting void, as I succumbed to the calling of my sin. The loneliness is what I need, to keep you safe. Love is supposed to stop the pain, to keep me from losing myself, but all I felt when I looked at you was pain, and misery. I don’t deserve you, I remember I felt you breaking with me. I want to stop giving in, but I won’t. I want to feel you again, to experience you, to remember. But I can’t, I’ll only drag you down with me, into the shadows, into my sin. I felt so alone when I was so close to you, that’s when I knew you couldn’t save me. They always said you couldn’t stop what death brings, and I’ll be damned if I ever let you follow me into the dark. I give in once again, I let go, I embrace my sin, allow the numbness to flow through me once again. I can only hope that you forgot me. I hope you didn’t keep me in your memories. I won’t be saved, because I don’t want to be saved. The dark is my home.
