IN THE DARK
(BOY) As the hours tick on and on the sun erodes and the sky is wasted
Every hour of existence is worth nothing …without her
Every fiber in my soul yearns for her to come back to me
I hear her footsteps taping on the cold linoleum floor
But wait it is but my heart beat thumping in my chest
O the longing; what emptiness is lying over me
What does life hold over me that death cannot restore
For this love has gone from me and love can be given no more
If I am to die why not it be for love?
If I am to heal why not it be in death?
For this life offers nothing more for me,
And so it shall be in death that true love will comfort me…
(GIRL) For if it is not meant to be, then why must I suffer so in indubitably
I feel his stares, I feel his heart; it calls to me and yet I do not answer…
If this is something I want why do I feel as if I’m bringing sorrow?
My life is nothing but a waste for the marrow
If I shall go to him how could I deface his sorrow?
For it is not I that can help him,
I shall leave it for my brethren
Maybe time is all he needs …
And so I shall see him a week after tomorrow
….in hope his pain will pass
For I still believe in hope for a better tomorrow…..
