The Dark
It makes you feel like your world is constricted;
the dark.
Like your limitations are restricted.
You can see its rows of fangs like a shark.
It's poised to attack,
and forever in the rear of your mind.
It creeps up your back,
Feeds on your happiness; freshly dined.
Some say it's forbidden,
but it comes in more forms than one.
It will never be unhidden,
for it won't stop until its job is done.
It will crack your dreams like an egg,
for you will be so drunk,
as if you were drinking from a keg.
You'll know when it's coming - the terrible skunk.
it is very sly,
nearly a skank.
It will make you think you can fly,
but make you fall, attached to your flank.
So just you think,
about that dark.
It will make your head spin round like a rink,
until you hear death's bark.
