The Dark Bright

Black hair,
Short black hair.
I tried to sing with the birds but you kept me in my cage.
Tormented, was this a metaphor as a child?
A harrowing reminder of what is yet to come?
Foolish, now you see don't you?
The controller.
It twisted its roles.
A childhood filled with foreshadowed scenes followed by the falling action you produced.
I couldn't sing with the birds but you sang for me.
I learned to sing along with you.
I learned to deceive you.
I learned to do a lot of things going against you.
But didn't you go against me too?
Yet there you were and here i was, your prodigal child.

Blonde hair,
Long blonde hair.
