Dark Days

I sit there

waiting for the day to come.

When someone tells me it's the end

it'll be a new day.

A day where it isn't sad

isn't dark and gloomy.

Those days of endless hours of sitting there

acting like there's no care in the world.

My eyes get tired and sting from staring

out the window that seems so near.

So clear to my ability that others it's black

black from the outside

and white on the inside.

I wish I could be them

they're happy, carefree

living, without me.

I'm dead inside

I want to see light.

The light that somehow gets me

to the streets

opposite of that window.

That window that tears me down

down to my weakness.

No more do I see dark

It's not me anymore.

I'm bigger than that

now I'm on the outside.
