Dark Dreams
Dark Dreams
Trees whisper with unseen eyes,
Dark puddles grab for the secrets you dare to hide,
Though you run you know you can’t forever,
For you know no one can escape the endless river,
Imagination beyond comprehension,
Death without reason,
Behind your closet door, under your bed,
Screaming fears inside your head,
Then you escape dreamland,
Only to go back again,
Remember when you were running,
From what you do or do not know,
The screams are now overwhelming,
From things you dare not show,
This is not a dream,
This is reality's tangling strings,
No matter how many times you cut you'll never be free,
But you can escape,
I’ll tell you a secret the darkness won’t confess,
The secret that leads to true happiness,
It’s not relationships, money, death, or religion I suppose,
The only way out is with a friends help,
A hope to be found among many unknowns.
