Dark Paradise

I stuttered emotions I should not know

Pulling rubber bands against my skin

The habit of it was comforting

Hand made necklace around my neck

Hanging ten feet from the ground

Leaving you one last memory

Your new friend did not have the blues

She figured the beauty of a goddess

The poster child of innocence

I changed scenes from misery to a blank slate with new grace

Saw heaven at the bottom of a swimming pool

Saw an old face on the other side

I let go of the sad in me and finally found my peace
