Dark Passenger
As I attempt to find meaning
Every morning, I struggle to quiet the voices in my head
Brother says it's the dark passenger within me, fighting the voice of reason
I picture it walking beside me,
like God and death would
and I wonder is there any harmony?
I am torn and tired
The dark passenger says I can stay as long as I want.
My light friend is against it
You won't come out alive.
I want to keep them both.
The darkness scares me, yet I embrace it.
It indulges my fears and insecurities
I can be myself without my cloak of indifference
It's why I am always here.
I could stat here but I know I will doe
But we always dying anyway.
My light friend passed by today
He said, "You can't stay here"
It's time
You are not meant for this world
I am happy to see him
I take his hand
and I know everything will be alright.
