Dark Queen

Pale pink lips full in the sunlight,

Graceful fingers carefully plucking at my heart.

She plays me like her mother plays with sunlight.

In my palace made of rust and bones,

She quiets the moans.

Her beauty enthralled my subjects,

But one most of all.

The king of Darkness,

Death and suffering.

My little goddess woven of soft petals,

Sitting upon a throne of screaming souls.

She steals the breath of my dead,

Silencing their screams.

So tell me, did you want her beauty to yourself?

Did you keep her trapped by the rolling plains of golden wheat,

Because you didn't want to be overthrown.

You kept her in the shadows, that why she was drawn to my world.

Why she eat those seven pomegranate seeds and cared none for the moans.
