The Dark Side of Growing Up

When I was young I used to think growing up was amazing

But I was wrong

Growing up isn't amazing

Although you would think otherwise

But you would feel pain and misery

Then when your parents see you suffer they say

Its just a phase it'll pass

But it doesn't

You lie awake at night crying until you can't anymore

Sometimes you want to turn back time and be a kid again

But you can't

It's all written out in pen and paper

It's set in stone

But there's no eraser

Every single little choice it affected your future

I wish I could stay a kid

But as you know thats not possible
