Dark Side of the Moon

Bound by science,

Helpless is the moon.

But what about this planet

On which we are marooned?

What tortures do we inflict

On living, breathing creatures

That roam this earth beside us,

Scorned for unique features.

Trayvon was killed.

For his skin was black.

Tell me just one crime.

That's enough to back.

Five-year-olds attacked,

Watch the barrel for a bullet.

Newtown filled with grief,

And no way now to dull it.

Five walls touch September sky,

Filled with cries of desperation.

A lone, rouge plane...

Ubiquitous conflagration.

So forget the extraterrestrial;

Don't worry about the moon.

Who cares about one dark side

When we have a black cocoon?
