The Darker Twin

I am the darker twin

I am the shadows of the past you'd rather forget

When playtime comes, you tell me to stay quiet

But I speak anyways

When someone ask about my past you tell them to forget it

But they don't, they never will

So long as that past doesn't only exist in the past.

If you can't tell from this poem, it's about how America would rather forget about all the atrocious acts committed to people of color in the past. But I'm basically saying that you can't forget it if it doesn't only exist in the past.
