Dedicated to the loves of my life.

Conceived May 4, 2013.

If I laugh before saying I'm sorry,

It's because I know you will forgive me,

And because that thought makes me happy,

But know that I'm sorry.

If I cry before saying what worries me,

It's because I trust you to understand,

And because I know you'll be by my side,

Standing with me.

If I scream before saying I'm frightened,

It's because I feel your strength beside me,

And because I know you will protect me,

As always.

If I fail before saying I want to try,

It's because I think you've never failed at all,

And because I want so badly to show you

That I can be like you.

If I run before saying I'm too stressed,

It's because I have someone to return to,

And because I know when I do, they'll help me,

You'll help me.

If I sleep before saying I'm tired,

It's because I see you in my dreams at night,

And because I know I'll be in yours, too.

Look for me.

If I get mad before saying what irks me,

It's because I understand it's not your fault,

And because I want to be the one doing right

Just once, one time.

If I move before saying I need space,

It's because I thought it was a given,

And because the space in my heart is your space.

That's a given.

If I die before saying I love you,

It's because I never thought I could lose you,

And because three words could never be enough,

But know that I love you.

Ego Finale

You're a human, right? Just like me. You're alive, you breathe, you think. Just like me. You learn, you love, you hate, you aspire. Just like me. Unless you give me a reason not to, how can I not love you?
