The Darkest of Minds

Furious eyes on us

Every goddamn second of every goddamn day

And he was flooding into my mind

It was so real

He was going to hurt me

Fingers brushing against the jagged raised surface

Of my skin

The pain was good

Almost enough to distract me

Hands were caught between us

To accept reality at some point

It was needed

But he was

Perfect innocence under the threat of guns

He tugged me back

The sky dipping into night

The patchwork of old bloodstains on the ground

He was capable of killing me with his brain

With

His

Words
