Darkness

Nothingness eats inside me Nothing but an empty void Too much pain has flowed inside me Only so much anger can I take The sadness eventually dissipates Longing despair can only hold so long Day in, day out with no hope on the horizon I am doomed to repeat the endless cycle of my life No potential, no hope, no life, nothing but darkness ahead So the emptiness continues to eat at me gnaws on me greater and greater everyday When will I reach my threshold? Perhaps the feeling of numbness is eternal I fear it has already consumed me I feel nothing in the pit of darkness inside me What do I have to look forward to? Perhaps not all of me has been touched by this emptiness Maybe some hidden caverns have been spared If this is so, what will happen when this feeling reaches my empty voids What will I become when I reach the point of no return I would say I fear the worst, But empathy is something that has been stolen Snatched from my pit of emotions a long time ago…..
