Darkness

The darkness inside is a haunting reminder I’m not who I was any longer. My dreams and goals I tirelessly chase, But it seems my life is at too fast a pace. What do I do when night is falling, When horrid memories are calling? How do I find something new When all I have is an empty hue? Awake my soul, live on, and live ever In a place where joy does not sever. Look up, oh eyes, to a second chance New hope and new life I beg enhance. The sun is coming, the light is shining, Finally the hope for which I have been pining. Today is new, today is grand, And stepping out of the dark, I take God’s hand.
