Darkness

My eyes feel shut yet I look around

I take a step

Needles cover the ground

My hands wrap around something small then nothing

Nothing is left but the smell of earth

Trodden by wandering minds and feet

My leg slips on something wet

Left right

Left right

Ice cold envelopes me

My eyes burn

My heart races as my lungs gasp for air

I didn’t know what darkness was until I came here

It now enters my mind

All senses go still

Time stops completely

When you can no longer

See anything
