Darkness

The emptiness is always lurking, I can't escape it, I have a family I love, But I awaken everyday to the darkness, I take medication But it always returns, I walk around with this void, I care for my family regardless, I wish I had an answer, When I drink, When I do drugs... The emptiness fades away... This cannot be life, I feel dead, can I be alive and feel dead?
