In This Darkness
Hot searing pain,
You scream at the top of your lungs,
fear grips you because you have no idea who hurt you.
weeping until no tears come,
darkness seems to wrap around you like a blanket, one that isn't comforting.
Why is this happening?
Is there a way out?
Pain so unbearable you can bearly breath.
voice raw and cracking.
Face drenched in tears.
The darkness has become a black abyss
a never ending maze, taller than you can climb.
Someone or rather something comes behind you,
slithering across your skin causing chills to run through your body.
It places a mask over your eyes, hands dripping in crimson.
Drip, drip, dripping onto me, running its cool path across my skin.
Becoming smothered by something that is inside of you is terrifying.
Swallowing the darkness, defeat comes across you
giving up seems to allow it to smother you,
and It gladly does.
