Darkness

The darkness consumed her thoughts

everything she knew was gone

taken from her, never to return.

All the happiness she had disappeared

nothing but darkness surrounds her

she can barely breathe with no one to help her.

She lays her head down one the cold hard ground

with no way out she knows this is it.

With no one to save her she tries to distract herself

it never works, the darkness is really suffocating.

She closes her eyes and just then a light comes on

she is confused as to where the light came from.

Running to the light, almost out of breath

the light gets closer, it is warm and now she can see.

She looks down at her body all the scars and blood

is dried to her skin but at least they stopped bleeding.

The light shines bright as someone calls out

“Is anyone in here?”

She keeps quiet.

Not knowing how to respond.

She turns away and finds the darkness,

The light vanishes and the darkness suffocates her

But this time instead of fighting the darkness

She lets it consume her,

Leaving her breathless and dead…

Well almost.
