Darkness

The darkness is haunting me

Like a ghost in the night

I try to stay in the light

Try to push away the darkness

The pain and sadness

But it always finds its way back in

I wish I could run away

But it never goes away

Never leaves my head

It haunts me

It never leaves me alone

I try and be happy but it won't let me

It's like a drug that stays in my body

Giving all kinds of side effects

It digs at my pain and sadness

It brings up memories I try and forget

I just want a be happy

But I will never be happy with this darkness inside me

I have been through a lot and that shows in my poems. I wish that I could just let someone open up my mind and see it for them self but since that can not happen I put it down on paper and let people see it that way....I just hope they don't judge me because of it.
