Darkness
Darkness engulfs the night surrounding me
Hugging me tight, no comfort in the night
Tug at my fingertips
Pull me in your direction.
Can’t see where I’m going
Trip on my own feet I’m falling now
Face first into the ground
Bruised and bloody
Knees scraped
Try to pull myself up
Deafening screams echo in the night
Who’s there? Who’s touching me?
Calloused hands scrape across my skin
Don’t touch me!
Fight, kick, and scream
Struggle to get away
Rip and tug at my body until you’re done
Violated and left for dead
I hug myself tight
Curled up in a ball on the cold, hard ground
Use the darkness as a safety net
Nothin but the wind to keep me company
I drift away
