Darkness.

The darkness is my long lost friend A cover of black replacing the light There to greet me at the day’s end My consciousness losing all sight The moon, my muse, my influence Overtaking the rays of sun Illuminating the lost ruins Bringing light to all I have done No one will dare to stop the night Happy to give in and oblige Its power weakening what’s right Forgetting the truth, remembering lies And with the breeze from the moon’s tides, We’re left to ponder why it comes, The dark makes it easy to hide, But no one has the strength to run Pity me not, for night is here, Happy to welcome me home again, But please, keep all your loved ones near, Because the darkness is never truly a friend
