In The Darkness

IN THE DARKNESS

In the darkness I do lay,
Trying to keep my tears at bay.
In the darkness oh so deep
No one here to see me weep.

Outside the sun shines bright;
Others bathed in warm sunlight.
In here the curtains drawn;
No warmth no light from dusk til dawn.

No one sees in, I can't see out.
No one to hear my scream nor shout.
My Master smiles oh so wide,
No one knows that here I hide.

She is happy, don't get me wrong,
But the light of day only lasts so long.
I am here, and I must stay;
She refuses to acknowledge I must be slayed.

In the dark where none can see;
When darkness falls it's just her and me.
She fights me well with all her might,
But I cannot leave though I am slight.

Many say my kind does try
To hurt our Masters, make them cry,
But that is where they are wrong;
The problem is they are not strong.

We are our foe, but I cannot go,
For she is me, and I am we.
