Darkness Gives Way to Hope
There are times,
When I feel there is no hope,
When I feel the weight of life crashing down upon me.
Crushing, leaving nothing behind, but the constant ever present misery.
I cry out in the night, but all I hear is the rushing of wind, and feeling that I can’t go on.
At times I feel I must hide, hide away from all the trouble.
There are times I feel I have no right,
To hide when others suffer more than I,
Yet still at others I hide anyway, hoping I can be safe,
But life has a way of catching up.
I feel alone
Helpless in the dark
Alone, forever alone…
And yet
There is light.
It appears in the dark,
When there is no hope left in the world.
It seeps into the soul, filling it with warmth.
When it comes, joy and happiness follow close behind,
And when the dark comes again, I will look forward to, and remember the light.
