Darkness: My One, True Friend
Forever, have I been trapped
in the endless hole of darkness;
questioning those who subjugated me
to the pit of misery.
The longer I stay,
the more instensity my insanity grows.
Staring at the pitch blackness
broils the deep anger within.
I punched, kicked, shout
for any gleam of light to come to my fate.
Alas, it was all in vain
for light to come rein over my life.
When I dream,
I dream of me.
I imagine a palace of hapiness and comfort,
but when I wake,
I wake to sorrow.
My heart hollowed with despair and insecurity.
A light appears in a blink of an eye;
my mind fiddled with a tide of hope.
I trudge through the brink;
my optimism and my pessimism interlocked in combat.
Climbing out of the pit of misery,
I could see the light.
My nose filled with fresh air;
my ears tuned to the music of nature.
A figure appears before me;
A silhouette of a person.
Friend or foe,
I did not know.
Before I could understand,
I was casted back into the pit.
Falling and screaming, I questioned, "Why?"
The figure laughed and said, "Die!"
As I fell to the deep,
I curse the figure to suffer how I suffered.
I shield my eyes from the light,
and turned to the side,
from the bright flickering of hope.
A final thought crossed my mind
before my life runs from my body.
The darkness was always there for me;
the darkness was my one, true friend.
