Darkness Rise and Fall

Walking down this path

Left on my own

Getting darker with every step

Away from what I've known

Break my chains

Free from what holds me here

Stealing my breath

Clouding my head with fear

Shadows closing in

Dark and cold as night

Smothering me with their inky touch

I no longer see the light

Your hand pierces through

Gripping mine

I get pulled out

Like a fish on a line

We lock eyes

A soft and loving embrace

And all I can see

Is love on your face
