Darkness Three

Thu, 10/17/2019 - 12:21 -- CorrynP

Hot breath ricocheted off the cabinet walls

Wet and salty tears on the brink to be shed

Darkness lurks to and fro

Linking every thread

It drowns me in a cloudy sorrow

With thorns and roses

Thrown far and wide

How many times have you tried to borrow?

From which I cannot hide

It lurks in every corner

And yearns to be fed

Independence spreads to each of its weary sides

Not touched or to be lead

Eager eyes blink from the shadows

Red gleaming from its eyes

Pleasant dreams are dreamt tonight

So tomorrow in comparison is,

Only a nightmare and a fight.

A final breath has shown its weakness

And I am revealed.
