Darling, Dearest, Dead

Darling, Dearest, Dead

Darling, dearest, dead,

I swear I shall never forget,

The way I felt when our eyes first met,

And the way constant tears now keep mine wet.

The way my lips shall speak your name,

As yours shall never speak again,

A broken heart that continued to wait,

Long after yours had turned away.

Darling, dearest, dead,

As ships pass in the end,

My end and my beginning,

My darling, dearest, dead.
