The Darned Flowers

O May flowers

O Newly born flowers

O Spring, the season of flowers

And the hope of happiness

O Smiles, fleeting smiles

And the passing beauty

O Woman that I love fondly

With tenderness and with endless desires

Tender darling, the flowers are doomed

Because soon they will all be faded

And the spoiled tropical fruits ready to be junked

In countless overflowing and overturned dumpsters

Near the crematorium

O Darned Flowers

That we cauterize in the columbarium

This is how it is when the flowers are withered

They are cremated without due process

Without waiting for the dead leaves

Of September and the agonizing tears of the drag queens

Flowers! O discarded and humiliated petals

Do not waste your aromatic perfume

On this depraved, gangrened and ghastly world.
