Daughter of Atlas
Stagnancy is painful.
So is the salt water running through my aching heart
missing the sea
missing my home
unmoving, stationary
underneath this weight that crushes me
suffocates me
with iron hands that wrap around my lungs
and I cant breath
because this weight is killing me with the fear that is rushing trough every fiber of my being
And I'm afraid.
I'm afraid of this world I carry on my shoulders
I'm afraid of these dark things inside of me
I'm afraid of the truth
The truth of what I see
It's Atlas, and Atlas is me.
Bowing undeneath his burden
and I know
I know
I know his burden
I bow underneath mine
And it hurts, this crushing pain of crippling doubt
because I want to stop.
let its weight crush me so it stops hurting
But I cant
I wont.
I know this weight,
I've carried it for so long
and it has made me strong.
I am Atlas.
and although my bamboo spine bends
I am not broken.
And I will keep going
keep fightng, keep living
keep loving
every inch of my flaws.
And I am more than my burden
I am me
This freed daughter of Atlas
