A Daughter of a King

She stands with her head held high

She walks the narrow and straight

A woman who works until her body dies

A woman who protects and decides her own fate.

She helps those in need and never judges

She reaches out her gentle hands to others

She forgives and her heart holds no grudges

For she knows they are her sisters and brothers.

She is a sight of virtue and honor

Her heart so kind and pure

Because of where it harbors

In Him it is secure.

Her words are wisdom and truth

Knowledge deriving from long ago

The Master himself is the root

Her faith and light are always aglow.

The world falters around her

As hard and cruel as life may be,

To those lost, she is an anchor

A light of Christ is she.

Her husband safely trusts her

She confides but always listens

To her children, she always answers

And her candle of truth always glistens

Never fearing the snow; so cold and bitter

Always clothed in scarlet and purple; a sight of royalty

She stands out from the world that hinders

A daughter of a King she will always be.
