David Bowie
If I held out my hand,
Would you take it?
Could I take you away,
To places we have never seen?
Recognizable as they’ve been,
Now unknown with you…
You are change,
Like a wind scents on it's invisible crests,
Like an ocean wave tosses the shore,
Like creation, like the end of it all.
Knowing you is
Like standing in that wind, feeling the world change all around me,
Like standing before that wave, knowing that I won’t want to breathe
Like being made again, and being destroyed forever,
Like falling and never reaching the bottom.
And I can’t help, but feel the least bit afraid,
Because who can’t help,
But feel afraid of change?
But I need a change,
I need to change,
I need change.
Change is scary,
But change is us.
