Dawn
In the dark, I awake.
I’m sitting, I’m watching, I’m waiting.
Slowly the grey film crawls across the grass.
Thin fog, cool breeze, rustling trees.
A bird sings a precious song.
Sky lightens, fog clears, sun rises.
The morning is once again here.
Clouds form, drops fall, water splashes.
The rain coats me from head to toe.
Wind whispers, rain splatters, sky shimmers.
The sun peeks softly through the clouds.
Sky clears, water sparkles, colors brighten.
A rainbow forms in the sky.
In the light, I smile.
