FROM DAWN TO DUSK

from dawn to dusk

I am here,

I am there;

but do you

really, really care?

alone in a corner;

that is where

I get to spend my day.

I am of importance

in the grander scheme of things;

emptied of all possessions

at the start of many sessions,

then at slower intervals

I am fill with many candidates,

destined for another home.

and if you don't recognize

the importance of my being

as you aim to discard

another empty coffee cup,

remember at your peril

that without me;

your day would be feral

and full of rubbish!
