Dawning the Badge

Inspiration is a strange phenomena

More powerful than any weapon

A man with a mission ten times

more powerful than any nations army

To protect and serve like the motto of the police

An occupation that would truly make me happy

Placing my body between the community

and the dangers of the city

Backed by those who stand by my side

friends, family, and brethren

Not bound by blood but loyalty

Will they reinforce my resolve

Where I shall aspire to cleanse the world

by a small fraction of suffering

Mothers, fathers, daughters, and sons all plagued by fear

Gangs, drugs, guns, and violence all tools of instiled terror

Continueing my current path to reach my goals in mind

A place of higher learning a college by design

Taking every turn in life as a new experience to triumph

Placing strain on my body to reach pique fitness

Only then will I be ready to undergo the challenge

Of passing all the obstacles  laid out before me

Jumping through hoops to pass all tests

That stand between me and my dreams

Anything to aspire to be like my heroes

I would move mountains, dig lakes, and swim oceans

If only to be granted a chance

Because no feat is too big or too small

that will shake my resolve
